(Huge thanks to Tim from the Red Wings for taking care of me again this season.)Д«efore I entered, I took a series of photos to capture the pavilion in front of Frontier Field in panorama form вЂ¦ The Red Wings were once again providing me with a media credential, which you can see here: As much as getting a bobblehead of Stan the Man was appealing, it wasnвЂ™t in the cards for me, as I didnвЂ™t have a ticket. The reason for the early arrival? Stan Musial bobblehead night. Lots of reasons to get inside and check things out!ДЇirst, though, I took the following photo from the parking lot, which shows not only the front gate of Frontier Field and the tip of the Kodak building beyond, but also a decent contingent of eager fans: Buffalo, of course, is the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and I hadnвЂ™t seen the Bisons in action since they became affiliated with the Jays.

I closely follow the Rochester Red Wings, given my love of Frontier Field, and they were hosting the Buffalo Bisons during this final series of the International League regular season. I checked in to my amazing hotel when I got to town (lots more on that later) and made it to Frontier Field shortly before 4 p.m., a couple hours before first pitch. IвЂ™ve often said that Frontier Field might offer my favorite all-round ballpark experience, and when I was planning my recent trip, I couldnвЂ™t resist kicking things off in Rochester.ДЄll that said, I was pretty excited to hop in the car the morning of August 29 and punch Rochester into my GPS. RochesterвЂ™s Frontier Field is always on that list. The way IВ answer this common question, albeit in a roundabout way, is to talk about which parks IвЂ™d pick if I could theoretically relocate somewhere and buy season tickets.

Whenever I meet new people on my baseball road trips and tell them about The Ballpark Guide, the question IвЂ™m most often asked is, вЂњWhatвЂ™s your favorite park?вЂќ ItвЂ™s a question thatвЂ™s almost impossible to answer - how can you compare the history of a 100-year-old park with the amazing, modern amenities of a new one?
